Girls' Brigade

Vision Statement To see: Girls' Lives Transformed; God's World Enriched!

Girls' Brigade Motto To: Seek, Serve and Follow Christ

Girls’ Brigade at Noarlunga meets on Tuesdays (during school terms) from 6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

Girls’ Brigade at Noarlunga is part of a worldwide Organisation which has partnered with Churches for 125 years, empowering girls and young women to develop their gifts and skills, particularly in leadership, and to discover what it means to have life to the full in their generation.

Girls’ Brigade is an out of school based program that offers weekly activities for girls while building up their faith and relationship with God and others in a safe and secure environment.  On any given night, girls could be singing a song, baking a cake, painting a picture, making new friends, playing a new game, acting in a play, baking biscuits to give to others in the community, helping those in need, learning a new craft, exploring the Bible and experiencing God’s love in action – and having FUN!

There are four groups in Girls’ Brigade; Cadets (Foundation, Year 1 & 2 at school), Juniors (School Years 3, 4 & 5), Seniors (School Years 6, 7 & 8) and Pioneers (Year 9 & upwards).

All Leaders within Girls’ Brigade are volunteers, trained, equipped and supported with resources from Girls’ Brigade Australia and other GB Leaders. All Leaders have provided current National Police Checks and have participated in Child Safe training.

The girls in each group work towards Awards by completing achievements which focus on spiritual, educational, social and physical themes. During their teenage years, girls have the opportunity to participate in a series of Leadership Training Courses that will equip them with life and leadership skills which will benefit them, not only in Girls’ Brigade, but in their workplace and the wider community.

Girls’ Brigade members pay Fees ($60.00 per term) which cover International, National and State Membership Fees, insurance, postage, stationery, photocopying, and craft/cooking materials etc that the girls use each week.  Girls’ Brigade is not a profit making organization and all money is spent on the benefit of the girls.

Noarlunga is one of the four groups (formerly called “Companies”) in South Australia. There are currently over 100 Girls’ Brigade groups meeting around Australia.
